Brian G. Murphy, BEng, PhD is Chief Financial Officer, Chairman of the Board and a founder of ClinDatrix. He also oversees the firm’s Information Technology (IT) and Information Systems functions as Vice President of IT.
Experience
Dr. Murphy, who has more than 36 years of experience in research, engineering product development and engineering systems management, demands a strict discipline with ClinDatrix documentation systems. He has established internal product development protocols with staged design reviews and design validation processes on pilot production units to build a solid base for successful operations and to ensure regulatory compliance.
Dr. Murphy also has design and development experience with a wide range of electronic and mechanical technologies using expert theoretical and mathematical approaches. Prior to co-founding ClinDatrix, Dr. Murphy spent 23 years as an engineer for medical device companies, including Alcon Laboratories and Baxter Healthcare. At Alcon, he was Associate Director of Research and Development and was responsible for creation of processes and development methodologies to improve productivity across the electrical engineering group.
Education
Dr. Murphy holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (electronics and communications option), a Masters in Experimental Medicine (respiratory mechanics focus) and a PhD in Physiology from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
Industry Leadership
He has authored or co-authored 23 scientific publications. Besides developing and launching 16 products into production for various high technology companies in Southern California, he consults extensively in the areas of medical technology, program management and patent analysis and litigation. He also is fluent in Spanish and has a working knowledge of French.
